We had a great St. Patrick’s Day this year! Although March can be a stressful time, this year we prioritized fun and connection. The highlight this year was going to the Irish Inn at Glen Echo to enjoy live music by the Inn Mates (including Mitch Fanning, Tina Eck, Jesse Winch, and Zan McLeod, with special guest Danny Knicely). I expected us to sit by the side and maybe hop up for a few tunes, but we ended up dancing all night! The music was so lively, the vibe was great, and we pulled out all our favorite steps. My favorite moment was possibly the blissfully chaotic North Kerry set we managed to pull off in a very tight and crowded space 🙂
I heard from some in our group that this was their best St. Patrick’s Day in years—rather than performing for an audience, we were super connected to the music, to the musicians, and to each other. That’s what I’m talking about!

I also had a great time at the monthly Greater Washington Céilí Club (GWCC) céilí later in the week. Check out this photo of our Ballyvourney Jig set caught mid-air! (Photo by Paul O’Donnell.)
